Bluegrass music has always been at the roots of this bands musical heritage. Each member of the band grew up with what they like to call "Ozarks Gospel". Christian lyrics, soulful three- or four-part harmony singing, and usually accompanied by traditional acoustic instruments. The fiddle, five-string banjo, guitar, mandolin and upright bass are often joined by the resonator guitar (also referred to as a Dobro). Bob Lovett & Red Letter Edition have mastered southern quartet style harmonies and songs, then blended them with masterful instrumentation, creating a sound that is uniquely their own.

Along with their "Ozarks Gospel" roots, Red Letter Edition honors the "Founding Fathers" of bluegrass music by meticulously recreating familiar songs with the harmonies and music of Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, The Stanley Brothers, Benny Martin, even Elvis and many others.

A 'Capella songs in the style of primitive church hymns, many written by the band, have been the favorite of festival audiences, churches, fund raising events and radio stations around the world. Take this opportunity to listen to our music, and go to the "Contacts" tab above for your next event!
